    • Petition for Land , submitted by Robert Hallett in 1806 to the government of the Province of New Brunswick asking for a grant of Lots No. 49 & 50 on the east side of the Saint John River a short distance above the Becaguimec Stream in what later became the Parish of Brighton in the County of Carleton and Province of New Brunswick:

To His Honor Gabriel G. Ludlow
The Memorial of Robert Hallett humbly sheweth
That he has a family of nine children, five of whom are boys now able to assist him, and he has no land of his own (having been compelled to quit the lot originally granted to him). He has explored the lots No. 49 & 50 near the Abeckagumit Creek in Wakefield, and concluded that he can get a living for his family by cultivating them. He therefore humbly prays that the said Lot No. 49 & 50 may be granted to him. As in duty bound, etc.

      Robert Hallett

The above lots were registered to Benj. Reed who is reported to have relinquished them on being refused the Island in their front they remain unimproved.
